ANDREA GABIREL ON MACKENZIE:

Oh, she's awesome. She's really... really... really cool. She's VERY smart, and she's really precocious - and not precocious in a showy kind of way that sometimes kid actors can be - you can tell that she is very wise.

And wise beyond her years. And she [laughs] complains less than anybody [laughs] on the set… the adults tend to whine more than she does.

She's quite a trooper with a great attitude all of the time. She's really wonder and really pretty - she's going to be a stunner.

06 Feb 2011 Breaking Dawn CGI Visual Effects Team Grows!

As we reported last month Jon Bruno has been hired to work exclusively on the CGI ageing process of Renesmee. We have now recently found out and now confirmed by IMDb that Adam Howard, well known for the amazing CGI effects in ‘The Social Network’, has now joined Bruno to assist with the superimposition of Mackenzie’s face onto the bodies on the younger Renesmee’s.

In The Social Network the Winklevoss Twins were made using special effect’s just like the ones that will be used on Renesmee in Breaking Dawn. They were created by having model/actor Josh Pence play one of the brothers in scenes where both Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss are together.

Armie Hammer played the other Winklevoss. After he had filmed his scenes he went into a studio, where they strapped his head into a harness to film that twin’s face and voice. It was then digitally superimposed over Pence’s face. Creating a sort of hybrid actor with Hammer’s head and Pence’s body. The two worked with an acting coach together for ten months, developing movements and speech patterns that the real life twins would have.

Even though Renesmee is not a twin the same effects will be carried out on her in the studio. The ‘Little Renesmee’s’ will provide the body of Renesmee at differant ages but will ALWAYS have Mackenzie’s head ‘morphed’ onto them making her seemlessly grow rapidly over the course of the film. Bruno and Howard have worked together several times to create absolute CGI movie magic, I am so glad that two amazing Visual Effects artists have been hired to carry out such a challengeing job :cute:

Who is doing most acting then?? Because i guess the body AND facial expressions are equally as important…but since mackenzie is the face, i guess she will be the one recognised as renesmee whereas the bodies (rachel st gelais etc) wont be really. What do u think?

Mackenzie will be. Unlike the ‘Little Renesmee’s’ she will be filming the WHOLE time. Her body will be used but combined with the other Renesmees :)

I can’t imagine to see Kenzie’s face on a smaller child.. I don’t know why, but it seems a little strange to me to have a more grown up face on a Toddler?!
